Segment 1 of the Malé North Side Boduthakurufaanu Road project has reached 91% completion, marking a major step in the city’s road overhaul.
MTCC confirmed the progress today. The team has begun carriageway works. Sub-grade works are done. ABC laying is now underway.
Workers have fully completed service line installation and the drainage system. Sidewalk construction stands at 87%.
The project aims to improve how people move across Malé. It widens key roads. It creates safer, pedestrian-friendly spaces. It reduces flooding with a new stormwater system. When finished, it will ease traffic and strengthen the city’s resilience during heavy rain.
