The Ministry of Economic Development, Transport and Trade has introduced a new Business Facilitation Portal, allowing businesses to submit challenges, concerns, questions and suggestions online without having to email, call or visit the Ministry.
The new platform is aimed at making it easier for businesses to communicate issues they face and seek assistance from the Ministry through a centralised digital channel.
Through the portal, businesses can select the type of assistance they need, including:
• Challenge – for issues that are affecting or holding back a business and require attention.
- • Concern – to raise a rule, policy or practice that a business would like the Ministry to review.
- • Question – to seek clarification on how a requirement applies to the business.
- • Suggestion – to propose an idea that could make doing business in the Maldives easier.
The initiative provides businesses with a direct online avenue to bring operational difficulties and regulatory concerns to the Ministry, reducing the need for businesses to rely on traditional methods of contacting government offices.
The Ministry’s website currently features Business Facilitation as a dedicated service, alongside services covering areas including foreign investment, consumer rights, intellectual property, marine transport, land transport and legal metrology.
The portal forms part of the Ministry’s broader efforts to improve business facilitation and create a more accessible system for businesses to engage with the government.
Businesses can access the portal through facilitation.trade.gov.mv and submit their issue or feedback digitally.
