Malé Taxi Line has completed 157,971 trips since the commencement of its service, with 52,790 users registered on the platform, highlighting continued demand for its taxi transportation service in the capital.
The service, which was introduced to make taxi transportation more accessible and convenient for residents, has continued to connect passengers with taxi operators across Malé.
According to the latest figures released by the service operator Maldives Transport and Contracting Company, the service has registered 52,790 users to date, while the total number of trips completed has reached 157,971.
The platform provides passengers with a centralised way to access taxi services, aimed at improving convenience and making it easier for people to arrange transportation within the city.
The continued use of the service comes as demand for reliable and accessible public transportation remains important in densely populated Malé, where taxis are a key mode of transport for residents and visitors.
Malé Taxi Line was launched by the government in April 2026 as a 24-hour taxi service, using a fleet of 150 electric vehicles. The service was introduced to improve taxi availability and provide a more accessible and organised transport option in Malé, with bookings available through its platform and the 1655 hotline. It was later expanded to Vilimalé as part of efforts to improve transport connectivity across Greater Malé.
