Seven Youth Representatives Elected to PNC Council

Seven candidates have been elected to the youth seats on the People’s National Congress (PNC) Members’ Council, with 12 candidates contesting for the seven available positions.

The elected youth representatives and their vote counts are:

• Simaan Haadhee — 881 votes
• Ibrahim Adhyan Nimal — 857 votes
• Malsha Shareef — 856 votes
• Mohamed Aseel — 852 votes
• Lujainullah Zuhair — 851 votes
• Ismail Rifau — 850 votes
• Hammad Rasheed — 849 votes

The contest was particularly close, with only eight votes separating the third-placed candidate from the seventh-placed candidate.

The election of the seven youth representatives forms part of the wider restructuring of the PNC Members’ Council during the party’s ongoing Congress.
