The Maldives National Service has completed its first year, with 1,028 Maldivian youth graduating from its basic training programme.
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu said the programme has achieved its target of training 1,000 youth annually, with more technical fields and internship opportunities planned in the future.
A further 136 participants have completed skill-based training, while 436 more youth are expected to join upcoming batches.
The government also plans to expand the National Career Service to help programme graduates find employment opportunities.
