The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has begun pre construction survey works for the Malé Road Project, with its survey team carrying out core cutting works on Ameenee Magu.
MTCC said the core cutting is part of the preliminary surveys being conducted before construction begins. The exercise is intended to assess the condition and structure of the existing road, providing engineers with information needed for the project’s design and construction.
The Malé Road Project will see the repair of three of the capital’s key roads: Ameenee Magu, Izzudheen Magu and Boduthakurufaanu Magu.
According to MTCC, the project is aimed at improving road safety and creating a more efficient road network across Malé. The planned upgrades are expected to enhance driving conditions, improve traffic flow and provide safer roads for both motorists and pedestrians.
The survey work marks one of the first steps in the implementation of the project, with construction expected to move forward after the completion of the necessary assessments.
