Abdulla Ibrahim, known as “Abucha,” has been returned to prison after his parole was revoked.
Abucha, who is serving a 25-year sentence for drug trafficking, was released on parole on October 1. The government later said the Parole Board had wrongly calculated his eligibility for release.
Following the controversy, six of the eight Parole Board members who voted for his release were dismissed.
The government has also suspended the board’s parole proceedings while new members are appointed.
