Former Human Rights Commission of Maldives (HRCM) Secretary-General Shammoon Hameed has been appointed as a member of the commission.
Shammoon previously served as HRCM’s Director of Investigation from 2010 to 2012 and Secretary-General from 2012 to 2016.
He also served as a focal point for UPR reporting and contributed to research on children’s rights and education for children with special needs.
Before his appointment, Shammoon was serving as Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Language, Culture and Heritage.
