The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has received 518 applications within the first 24 hours of opening applications under the government’s “Housing for All” policy.
The ministry said 399 applications were submitted for flats and 119 for land. Another 3,836 applications are currently being drafted on the Housing Portal.
Applications for flats close at 11:59 p.m. on April 17, while land applications close at 11:59 p.m. on March 4.
Under the programme, the government will allocate 7,900 flats, including 4,000 for Malé residents and reserved quotas for single parents, persons with disabilities, youth, and uniformed services.
Land plots of 1,250 square feet will be allocated in the Greater Malé Region and Rasmalé.
