The Housing Ministry has launched a digital service on the Hiyaavehi Portal, allowing eligible Gulhifalhu land recipients to download their land handover documents and view their plot locations online.

The Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development has today introduced a digital mechanism for recipients of land plots in Gulhifalhu to obtain their official land handover documents through the "Hiyaavehi Portal."
According to the Housing Ministry, recipients can now access their land handover documents by logging into the Hiyaavehi Portal using their eFaas credentials. Once logged in, users can view their specific land details and download the document under the 'Land Handover' section. Furthermore, the ministry has integrated a feature where scanning the QR code or clicking the link provided in the document will display the precise geographical location of the allocated plot on a map.
The Ministry clarified that this digital service is currently available only to those who have already received their land registries following the recent revisions to the Land Use Plan. For plots situated within ongoing project sites, the handover documents will be issued once the relevant site works are concluded.
Previously, land handover documents were issued physically at Gulhifalhu. However, with this modern digital transformation, recipients can now obtain their documents online without the need to travel to the site. This initiative significantly eases the process for landowners to verify their plot locations and monitor the current status of their land.
Speaking at the People's Majlis last Monday, the Minister of Infrastructure, Housing, and Urban Development, Dr. Abdulla Muththalib stated that the government aims to complete the digital handover of land to all Gulhifalhu recipients within this week. Additionally, the Minister noted that permission to begin the construction of boundary walls on these plots will be granted in the near future.
