The national campaign to promote next year as ‘Visit Maldives Year’ has officially been launched.
The campaign was launched at a ceremony held to mark National Tourism Day, by Transport and Civil Aviation Minister Mohamed Ameen and Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI) Chairperson Hussain Afeef.
The campaign’s official branding, logo and song were also unveiled at the event.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Ameen said the campaign will require the participation of the whole country, with cooperation from tourism stakeholders, islands and resorts.
New categories for the Maldives Tourism Awards 2020 were also announced, recognising contributions in human resource development, sustainability, tourist experience and individual achievements.
Applications for the awards are expected to open in the first quarter of 2021.
