AIM Inauguration to Strengthen Aviation Workforce Development: MACL MD 

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed has said the establishment of the Aviation Institute of Maldives (AIM) will strengthen efforts to develop skilled professionals for the country’s aviation sector.

He made the remarks while speaking at the official inauguration of AIM and the institute’s first graduation ceremony, held at Hulhule Island Hotel.

In his address, Shareef underscored the importance of continuously developing employees across various areas of airport operations, noting that MACL’s continued progress depends on the knowledge, skills and capabilities of its workforce.

He said AIM would provide MACL employees with structured opportunities to obtain recognised qualifications, enhance their technical and professional competencies, and advance their careers while continuing to work at the company.

The ceremony also marked the graduation of AIM’s first cohort, with 29 participants successfully completing the Certificate Level 3 in Airport Security Management.

Congratulating the graduates, Shareef encouraged all MACL employees to make full use of the training and professional development opportunities offered through AIM.

The establishment of AIM is expected to contribute to building a more skilled and qualified workforce to support the continued development of the Maldives’ aviation sector.
