The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Fire and Rescue Service responded to a total of 23 emergency incidents across the country between 12 and 18 July 2026, according to its latest weekly incident report.
Fire-related emergencies accounted for the largest share of responses, with 12 incidents recorded during the week. Fire and Rescue teams also attended five rescue operations, four medical evacuation (MED Evac) missions, one hazardous materials (Hazmat) incident and one other emergency. No disaster or alarm-related incidents were reported during the reporting period.
Regionally, the highest number of incidents was recorded in the Malé Area Command, which responded to 16 emergencies. The Central Area Command and Southern Area Command each attended three incidents, while the Northern Area Command responded to one incident.
The weekly figures highlight the continued demand for MNDF Fire and Rescue services, particularly in the Greater Malé Region, where the majority of emergency responses are typically concentrated due to its high population density and level of activity.
