President Pledges to Complete All Developmental Projects Linked to Public Aspirations by 2028

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that all developmental projects closely tied to the aspirations and hopes of the people will be completed by the second quarter of 2028.

Speaking at a People’s National Congress (PNC) gathering held in AA. Ukulhas, the President stated that alongside efforts to rescue the Maldivian economy from the precarious state it was in upon his assumption of office, developmental projects are being implemented at a rapid pace to fulfill the pledges made to the citizens. In this regard, he highlighted that numerous land reclamation and housing projects have been initiated within the past two and a half years.

Referring to statistical data, the President noted that during the first two years and eight months of this administration, 590 projects across various sectors have been completed. He emphasized that this is a significant achievement compared to the 285 projects completed during the same period under the previous MDP administration, and the 321 projects completed by the administration prior to that. Furthermore, the President revealed that work on 1,635 projects is currently ongoing across the Maldives.

Speaking on economic empowerment, the President stated that in addition to providing loan opportunities for youth and women, the government would facilitate diverse economic prospects to enhance their standard of living.

Regarding national stability, the President remarked that one of his foremost pledges is to eliminate the spirit of political vengeance and foster harmony within the nation. However, he expressed concern over certain individuals in today's political landscape who prioritize personal interests and attempt to disrupt national stability.

The President concluded by appealing to all citizens to prioritize national interest and fulfill their individual responsibilities. He noted that if every person upholds the principle of putting the nation first, it will pave the way for more prosperous and joyful days for the people.
