A new Maldivian education technology platform, Dhanathu, was officially launched on Sunday, introducing an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered learning tool designed to support students, teachers, and schools across the Maldives.
The platform was unveiled during a launch event attended by school principals, teachers, parents, and students. The event’s chief guest was Hassan Shakir Ali, President of the Dhivehi Bahuge Academy, who joined the founders in officially launching the platform.
Addressing the gathering, Hassan Shakir Ali highlighted the importance of embracing technology to enhance learning while preserving the Dhivehi language and the country’s cultural identity.
According to Dhanathu, the platform uses AI to help students study more effectively by generating curriculum-aligned study notes and practice questions from course content. It also provides students with tools to assess their understanding, while offering teachers and schools a streamlined way to support learning both inside and outside the classroom.
Representatives of Dhanathu thanked the Dhivehi Bahuge Academy, participating school leaders, and the wider community for their support in bringing the platform to fruition. They also reaffirmed the company’s commitment to improving educational outcomes for students throughout the Maldives.
The launch event featured live demonstrations of the platform, giving parents and teachers the opportunity to explore its features and engage directly with the Dhanathu team.
The founders said the platform was developed with the aim of making high-quality educational resources more accessible through technology while supporting classroom learning.
Dhanathu is now available to users through its official website.
Founded as a Maldivian edtech initiative, Dhanathu combines artificial intelligence with curriculum-focused learning resources to provide students with personalised study support and assist teachers in delivering more effective learning experiences.
