China to Fund 500 Housing Units

The Maldives has signed an agreement with China to develop 500 social housing units in Malé City.

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of a high level conference in Beijing, with the project to be financed through an interest-free facility from the Chinese government.

Officials from both countries formalised the arrangement, marking a step forward in housing development cooperation.

A separate meeting was also held to discuss additional grant aid projects, with both sides reaffirming commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.
