My Career Portal launched to connect job seekers, employers

The National Careers Service (NCS) has officially launched the ‘My Career Portal’, a digital platform aimed at connecting job seekers, employers and career development services through a single integrated system.

The portal was inaugurated by Minister of Homeland Security, Labour and Technology Ali Ihusaan during a ceremony held to mark the launch.

Speaking at the event, Minister Ihusaan said the government remains committed to introducing modern and efficient solutions to strengthen the country’s employment sector.

“As the head of the ministry responsible for organising the Maldivian labour market and providing convenient services to the public, we always prioritise bringing swift and modern solutions to this field,” the Minister said.

He described the My Career Portal as an important initiative that would make employment-related services more accessible and convenient for both job seekers and employers.

Developed by the National Careers Service, the portal is funded through the Sustainable and Integrated Labour Services (SAILS) Project, with support from the World Bank.

The platform is designed to create a user-friendly employment ecosystem by bringing job seekers, employers and career advisers together within a single network. It also provides tools to help individuals plan their careers, identify opportunities and develop skills needed to progress in the workforce.

Key features of the portal include:

• Career Guidance: Connects job seekers with trained career counsellors who can help them establish career goals, receive personalised advice and monitor action plans.

• • Career Pathway Designer: Helps users develop long-term career roadmaps and identify the steps required to achieve their professional goals, with guidance from relevant experts.
• • Milestone Tracker: Allows users to organise and track their educational qualifications, training and work experience while identifying areas where additional skills development may be needed.
• • Job Matching: Simplifies the recruitment process by allowing employers to advertise vacancies and matching job seekers with opportunities based on their skills and qualifications.

The initiative is also aligned with President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s ‘Maldives 2.0’ vision and his commitment to developing a skilled and capable young workforce while prioritising Maldivians in the labour market.

The My Career Portal is now accessible to job seekers and employers through www.mycareer.gov.mv⁠.
