MTCC Awarded to Construct Malé Court Complex in Hulhumalé

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been officially commissioned to undertake the development of the Malé Court Complex in Hulhumalé.

The agreement was signed during a special ceremony held at the Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing, and Urban Development. State Minister Al-Usthadh Abdul Yusuf Gafoor signed the contract on behalf of the Ministry, while Managing Director DCP (Retired) Ahmed Saudhee represented MTCC.

Under the scope of this project, a modern 14-story edifice will be constructed on a 29,490-square-foot plot of land. Once completed, the complex will serve as a centralized hub for several key judicial institutions, including the Civil Court, Criminal Court, Drug Court, Juvenile Court, Family Court, and the High Court. Furthermore, the building will house the administrative offices of the Department of Judicial Administration (DJA).

This infrastructure project, valued at MVR 699.86 million, is mandated to be completed within a duration of 720 days.

The establishment of this integrated court complex in Hulhumalé is anticipated to significantly enhance the efficiency of the judicial system and streamline the delivery of legal services to the public. This initiative represents a landmark development in the modernization of the Maldivian judiciary’s infrastructure.
