MTCC Announces Temporary Adjustments to Male' Bus Routes for Independence Day Celebrations

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has announced temporary modifications to several bus routes within Male' City in conjunction with the 2026 Independence Day festivities.

According to MTCC, these adjustments are necessary to accommodate the various activities scheduled for Independence Day on Sunday, July 26, 2026.

Consequently, service on the Orchid Route (Route 10) and the Ameenee Route (Route 11) will be suspended from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, or until the conclusion of the events. The company further noted that Route 1 buses will continue to observe their designated stops during this period.

Furthermore, from 6:00 PM onwards until the end of the celebrations, Route 2 and Route 8 buses will not operate to the Carnival area. Instead, these routes will terminate at the Maafannu Bus Terminal.
