President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Fathimath Ameeza as the new Commissioner General of Taxation at MIRA. Ameeza, who has more than 16 years of experience at the tax authority, previously served in key roles focused on tax policy, governance and revenue collection.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Fathimath Ameeza as the new Commissioner General of Taxation at the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA).
She was officially appointed during a ceremony held at the President's Office on Thursday.
Ameeza has more than 16 years of experience at MIRA, where she has contributed to tax policy reforms, institutional governance, and efforts to strengthen revenue collection. As a senior official in MIRA's Enforcement Division, she also led initiatives to improve the recovery of outstanding tax and non-tax revenues using data-driven strategies.
She holds a Master of Science in Accounting from the International Islamic University Malaysia and a Bachelor's degree in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University.
