MPL Hands Over New Public Restroom Facilities at Rasfannu

Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has officially handed over newly developed public restroom facilities at Rasfannu to the Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing, and Urban Development as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.

The handover ceremony was held on Tuesday evening at Rasfannu, where MPL Deputy Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Mueen formally presented the facilities to State Minister Ismail Hameed, who accepted them on behalf of the Ministry.

According to MPL, the project was undertaken following a request from the Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing, and Urban Development. The facility was designed by the company’s Project Department, while construction was completed by its Facility Department.

The newly built restroom block includes two toilets and a shower area. It has been designed to be fully accessible, with features that accommodate senior citizens, children, and people with disabilities, including wheelchair users.

Rasfannu is one of Malé City’s most popular public beach and recreational areas, attracting large numbers of residents and visitors throughout the year. The addition of accessible public restroom facilities is expected to improve convenience for beachgoers and enhance the overall visitor experience.

MPL said the project reflects its ongoing commitment to supporting community development through its CSR initiatives. The company added that it will continue to implement projects aimed at improving public infrastructure and contributing to the well-being of communities across the Maldives.
