MTCC has clarified that delayed BML server processing has caused customers to receive transaction alerts for earlier RTL trips. The company apologized for the confusion and advised customers with concerns to contact its hotline at 1650.

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has addressed concerns regarding bank card charges for previously completed trips on the Raajje Transport Link (RTL) network.
The company clarified that due to recent server maintenance carried out by the Bank of Maldives (BML), customers using public transport services may receive transaction notifications for trips taken at an earlier date. MTCC noted that the bank has advised customers to be mindful of these delayed processing alerts.
Recently, several customers have expressed concern on social media after receiving SMS notifications for the standard fare of MVR 3.25 at times when they were not actively using the ferry or bus services. Some users reported that while this issue has persisted for a few days, the frequency of such notifications has recently increased.
MTCC has expressed its apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused to its customers and conveyed its gratitude for the public’s continued cooperation.
The company further advised that anyone seeking additional clarification regarding these transactions should contact their hotline at 1650. The issue is understood to be a result of the bank’s system updates, which caused a backlog of previously authorized transactions to be processed and notified during this period.
