Maldives Ports Limited has continued the release of perishable cargo despite the closure of Male’ Commercial Harbour and Hulhumalé International Terminal for the Hijri New Year holiday.
In a post on X, MPL said perishable food items were being cleared from the ports between 7:30 am and 1:30 pm on the holiday.
The company said the service was being provided to ensure the uninterrupted supply of essential food items to the public.
MPL added that normal operations at the harbour will resume at 7:30 am tomorrow.
The company also extended Hijri New Year greetings to the public. The government has declared the day a public holiday to mark the beginning of the new Islamic year.
