Maldivians to be Prioritized in Employment and Business Sectors

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that efforts to find a permanent solution to the issue of undocumented immigrants in the Maldives are nearing completion, emphasizing that priority will be given to Maldivians in both employment and business sectors.

The President made these remarks during the fifth episode of "The Pulse" podcast, a weekly publication by the President's Office. In this episode, which focused on youth empowerment, the President addressed the concerns of young people and outlined several key government policies.

President Muizzu stated that one of the administration's primary goals is to foster local talent and ensure that graduates are skilled professionals with clear career paths. He highlighted that the government's vision is centered on creating better opportunities for the citizens.

"The work to bring a permanent resolution to the issue of illegal migration is currently being finalized. Our priority is to empower Maldivian youth by facilitating opportunities for them in the job market and private business sectors," the President stated.

Furthermore, the President touched upon the efforts to diversify the Maldivian economy, noting the target to ensure that the 'creative economy' contributes at least 15 percent of the National Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by the year 2030.

The President expressed his confidence that the ongoing initiatives would yield promising and positive results in the near future.
