Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has met with the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) to discuss securing land for its long-delayed “Hiyaa” housing project for employees.
The meeting was held between the senior management of both companies, with MTCC Managing Director DCP (Retd.) Ahmed Saudi and HDC Managing Director Brigadier General (Retd.) Ali Zuhair leading their respective teams.
According to MTCC, the company is seeking a plot of land from HDC to revive its planned Hiyaa housing project, which has not yet been realized.
MTCC said the failure to develop the housing towers has been a major concern for its employees, and its Board and management consider the project a priority for staff welfare.
The company had previously requested assistance from the President’s Office in securing land for the project. MTCC said President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu responded positively and formally communicated with HDC regarding the allocation of land for the company.
MTCC said it hopes to finalize the necessary arrangements and commence the project once the land is officially allocated.
