MTCC Relocates Cargo Ferry Services to Henveiru Ferry Terminal Due to Ameenee Magu Redevelopment

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has announced the temporary relocation of its cargo ferry services in the Greater Malé region as redevelopment works on Ameenee Magu continue.

According to MTCC, from August 4, all cargo ferry operations will be conducted through the Henveiru Ferry Terminal until the completion of the ongoing road redevelopment project.

The company said the temporary relocation is necessary due to reconstruction work currently underway on Segment 1 of Ameenee Magu. The move is intended to minimise inconvenience to the public while ensuring cargo ferry services continue without interruption during the construction period.

As part of the change, all cargo handling and logistics previously carried out at the former terminal will be centralised at the Henveiru Ferry Terminal.

MTCC apologised for any inconvenience caused by the temporary relocation and assured customers that cargo ferry services will return to their usual operating location once the redevelopment of Ameenee Magu is completed.

The redevelopment of Ameenee Magu is part of ongoing efforts to upgrade key road infrastructure in the Greater Malé area, with the project aimed at improving traffic flow, drainage and public utilities.
